Barnyard Animals at Ganyard Hill Farm

Farmer Ganyard in the Barnyard...

Run across the pastures, whistle down the lane;
Farmer Ganyard's waving, wave to him again!

Hear the goats bleating? The chickens clucking, too?
On a good day, you'll hear a rooster or two.
Now Bossy's quite friendly, a great addition to the farm,
And in no time at all, you'll see she'll do you no harm.

So come on out to see us, like the other folks do,
And let Farmer Ganyard make a farmer out of you!!

Milton Ganyard

Anyone who has lived in Raleigh-Durham area a while knows about Milton Ganyard and his Ganyard Hill Farm barnyard. It's a favorite weekend destination for Triangle families, particularly in the cool fall days of the harvest season. Children of all ages will come away with a smile on their face!

Pick and Shuck — Shell and Feed!

You can pick your very own corn from the tall corn fields, then give it a good shuck, and guide it into an old-fashioned hand-cranked sheller. Then gather what you've shelled and hand feed the goats, chickens and other farm animals. Though you can't feed Bossy, our resident "pretend" cow, you'll have a safe and fun milking experience; she yields 100% pure clean water.

After you've finished feeding and milking, visit our hand-washing station, a unique and fun foot-pedal contraption that will leave your hands clean and ready for your snack or lunch!
